Hi there, I am Lukas
I work as a project manager. a parent. An expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How This Began
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in the plans for the long haul. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The opening months were demanding— unfamiliar setups, routines, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock and uncertainty were present, with plenty of hands-on learning. Over time, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Horizon Stone Pad
Most online resources fell into corporate relocation guides or superficial travel content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism-authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Switzerland continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, please feel free to get in touch.
Warm regards,
Lukas
